Crystals In The City
Just imagine this – you are taking a leisurely stroll in Los Angeles, Madrid or Istanbul and out of nowhere you see crystals growing from a building. Such surprises are possible thanks to an artist called Page Smith. Since 2011 the painter decorates buildings, pipes, window frames and other exterior pieces with handmade crystals.
The crystals are in fact made of paper, folded into shape, glued and painted appropriately. Those art installations have a very short life, but during their time they attract a lot of attention.
Page has fans worldwide who replicate her technique, so look closely next time you walk outside, you might see some beautiful crystals in your city too.
